Study permit


EU Erasmus students who will study in Italy for more than 3 months are required to obtain a study permit (“permesso di soggiorno”) issued by City Hall (Comune di Perugia, Ufficio Relazioni con il Pubblico, Logge dei Lanari, Piazza Matteotti, Perugia) within 3 months from their arrival..

Non EU students have to apply for study Permits at Questura di Perugia within 8 days from their arrival.

Documents needed:
  • A certificate issued by the Erasmus Mobility Office stating the exchange programme the student is enrolled for and the study period;
  • A valid passport or equivalent document, showing entry visa;
  • A photocopy of this document;
  • 4 identical (recent) passport-size photos;
  • A revenue stamp worth € 14,62 (this stamp, called a “marca da bollo”, can be purchased at any local tobacconist’s shop, or Tabaccaio, around town;
